The Railway Tavern N16

The Railway Tavern runs on character. Two working fireplaces, movie-themed train posters, an Italian Modena pizza oven, and Sonos surround sound through a single open-plan space that seats 70 or holds 110 standing. It's a Stoke Newington pub that happens to have the technical infrastructure and kitchen capability of a venue twice its size — and the personality to make events here feel like occasions rather than bookings.

Winter Warmth, Summer Light

The two working fireplaces aren't decorative — they're the room's centrepiece in colder months, drawing guests in and creating the kind of warmth that makes winter parties feel like proper gatherings. Come summer, the windows open wide and the space transforms. The year-round appeal is genuine rather than theoretical, which keeps the venue relevant across all seasons for birthday celebrations, team events, launches, and private hire.

More Than a Pub

The Modena pizza oven anchors the food offering with wood-fired pizzas made on-site — proper event food that serves double duty as entertainment. Surround sound fills the room for parties, while a PA system and twin TVs handle corporate presentations and screenings without external AV hire. Both internal and external catering are available, and a section hire option (50 seated, 60 standing) lowers the barrier for smaller gatherings that want the space without the full-venue commitment.

A Stoke Newington Original

Dalston Kingsland station on the Overground is the nearest rail connection, and the N16 postcode places the venue in one of north-east London's most independent-minded neighbourhoods. The Railway Tavern fits that character — movie train posters on the walls, a pizza oven in the kitchen, fireplaces that actually work. For events that want personality over polish and substance over formality, it's a strong choice with a flexible hire structure. Located at 2 Saint Jude Street, London N16 8EL.
