The Fable

Drake & Morgan's storybook venue on Holborn Viaduct takes the fairy-tale concept and commits to it properly. Three floors of bar and restaurant space where every detail tells a story — a writing desk with vintage typewriter, a wine-shop-meets-florist called Bottles & Blooms, leather-bound books sourced from vintage markets, and an overall aesthetic inspired by Aesop's fables and enchanted forests. It could easily tip into gimmick, but the execution is warm and considered rather than theme-park theatrical.

Three Floors at The Fable

The ground floor is the largest and most versatile space, with the main bar, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Holborn Viaduct, alfresco terrace access, and semi-private areas for smaller groups. The mezzanine between floors offers an intimate bar and seating area with its own atmosphere. The top floor operates with a private entrance and dedicated bar — self-contained enough for events that want separation from the rest of the venue.

Each level has its own bar, which means three distinct settings within a single address. Events can book a single floor for focused gatherings or take the whole venue exclusively for up to 1,000 guests across all three levels.

Events at The Fable

The venue's range is wider than it first appears. Morning meetings from 7am, corporate lunches, networking drinks, birthday parties with DJ and dancefloor, wedding receptions across multiple floors, Christmas parties, and commercial shoots have all used the space. Mixology masterclasses run for groups up to 40, and the semi-private ground floor areas handle client dinners of 30–80 without requiring full hire.

The Fable's Clerkenwell Location

Sitting between Chancery Lane and Farringdon stations — both within five minutes on foot — the Elizabeth Line has transformed The Fable's accessibility. Cross-London connectivity from Heathrow to Canary Wharf runs through Farringdon, making it a practical choice for events drawing guests from different directions. The Clerkenwell neighbourhood brings creative credibility and independent dining character that reinforces the venue's personality.
