The Avenue Cookery School

Five islands, ten hobs, five ovens, and a demo mirror — The Avenue Cookery School is a venue where the kitchen is not behind a door, it is the entire room. For event planners looking to book something hands-on and genuinely interactive, this Wandsworth cookery school offers a format that no amount of breakout sessions in a hotel conference room can replicate.

Family-Run, Professionally Equipped

Diana and her children Sophie and Rich run the school, and the 4.9-star rating across more than 1,360 reviews reflects a personal touch that comes through in how events are managed. The equipment, though, is anything but domestic. Professional-grade everything — from the induction hobs to the commercial dishwashers and triple fridge-freezers — means the kitchen handles corporate groups, filming sessions, and product development work as capably as it runs weekend classes.

Cook, Then Eat

The format that defines most events here is simple: guests cook together, then sit down at a 24-seat dining table to eat what they've made. It works for team building because it forces genuine collaboration — chopping, timing, plating — in a way that icebreakers and trust falls never quite manage. Birthday groups, hen parties, and client entertaining sessions follow the same pattern, with the demo mirror letting instructors lead from the front while everyone watches from their own island.

Beyond Cookery Classes

The space earns its keep beyond classes too. Food and drink brands use it for product launches where professional kitchen equipment is essential. Recipe testing, food photography, and filming benefit from the bright, well-laid-out space. All equipment and crockery is included with hire, and bookings are available by the hour through to full day with evening use. Located at Enterprise Way in Wandsworth, the school is straightforward to reach and easy to supply for events that need external catering or product deliveries.
