SOUND Cafe and SOUND Bar

SOUND occupies the ground floor of The Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch — a music-themed venue built around live performance, with bands and artists playing seven nights a week. The space sits at the intersection of Oxford Street and Park Lane, formerly the Hard Rock Cafe, now rebranded with its own identity as a 620-capacity entertainment venue where the PA system and stage are permanent fixtures rather than hired additions.

Three Venues Within SOUND

The operation runs as a three-in-one concept. SOUND Cafe is the main performance space — 620 standing, a dedicated stage, and live music woven into the fabric of every evening. SOUND Bar offers a cocktail-focused setting adjacent to the Cafe, and SOUND Sports Bar adds screens for live viewing. For private hire, the spaces can work independently or combine, with a late-night private bar area accommodating up to 80 guests after 11pm for more intimate extensions of a larger event.

Live Music as Infrastructure at SOUND

The live performance programme is not an add-on — it is the venue's core identity. Built-in PA, stage, and sound infrastructure mean events benefit from professional entertainment capability without production surcharges. For corporate gatherings, birthday celebrations, and Christmas parties, the live music creates atmosphere from the moment guests arrive rather than requiring a separate entertainment booking. The late licence runs until 3am Thursday through Saturday, giving evening events room to build.

Cumberland Hotel and the Marble Arch Location

Sitting within a major hotel adds operational depth. The Cumberland has 15 additional event spaces including The Arena at 400 standing capacity, plus multiple studio rooms for conferences and meetings. Residential events can scale across the hotel, and overnight accommodation simplifies logistics for guests travelling from outside London. Marble Arch tube is at the door, with Oxford Street, Hyde Park, and Mayfair all within walking distance.
