Illuminate — The Science Museum's Conference Centre

For events needing a clean slate, Illuminate occupies Levels 4 and 5 with panoramic City views, twin 13,000-lumen laser projectors, repositionable edgeless screens, and capacity for 400 seated or 450 standing. It functions as a standalone conference centre within the museum — purpose-built AV by White Light, flexible dual-floor layout, and none of the exhibit constraints that gallery hires involve. IMAX: The Ronson Theatre adds a 414-seat cinema with an 11.5m stage for presentations needing cinematic impact.

How Science Museum Venue Hire Works

Most galleries are evening hire only, though Illuminate and Information Age offer daytime bookings, and Flight can be arranged for daytime use subject to availability. Catering operates through an approved supplier list with Moving Venue as the primary partner. White Light manages AV across gallery spaces, with dedicated lighting technicians included for Making the Modern World and Flight. Alcohol licence until 23:00 with extensions available. Exclusive hire of the full museum on limited dates accommodates 1,500-plus guests.

South Kensington station is a five-minute walk, serving the Piccadilly, Circle, and District lines.
