Spaces at Salters’ Hall
3 spaces availableAbout Salters’ Hall
No other livery hall in London looks like Salters' Hall. Designed by Sir Basil Spence and reopened after a major refurbishment by de Metz Forbes Architects in 2016, it's uncompromising Brutalist architecture with fluted ash panels, deep red carpets, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the fifth floor commanding views over London Wall and St Paul's Cathedral. The building won the RIBA London Regional Award in 2018 — the architecture itself is a talking point, and one that sets it apart from the gilt-and-portraiture register of most City livery venues.
Salters' Hall's Event Spaces
The Main Hall is the centrepiece: a double-height room with a gallery above, accommodating up to 130 for dinner or 300 standing across the combined spaces. The adjacent Court Room works for smaller corporate dinners and meetings, with rosewood panelling and stained-glass windows creating a warmer, more intimate register. The Dining Room on the mezzanine overlooks the Main Hall and seats 20 at a boardroom table — useful for breakout sessions, intimate lunches, or as a viewing gallery during Main Hall events. The Salt Lobby and Anti Room connect these spaces, lined with antique salt cellars and a striking cascading chandelier with lights shaped like rock-salt crystals.
The Salters' Garden
An acre of landscaped green in the Square Mile — rare enough to be genuinely remarkable. The garden includes a preserved section of the Roman London Wall, giving the outdoor space heritage site status and a visual anchor that no amount of landscaping could manufacture. For summer events, the garden accommodates up to 300 guests and provides a natural flow between outdoor reception and indoor dining that single-space venues simply can't offer.
Salters' Hall for City Events
Seasoned Events has been the exclusive on-site caterer for over 40 years, offering menus from canapés and bowl food to seven-course tasting dinners, with Asian and Kosher options available. The Worshipful Company of Salters — one of the Great Twelve Livery Companies, established in 1394 — brings genuine institutional heritage to the venue, with historic artefacts and salt-trade references throughout the building. Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations are both close, putting the venue within easy reach of the City's financial core.
