Old Billingsgate

Old Billingsgate was London's largest fish market from 1850 until 1982. Today, transformed by Lord Richard Rogers, it's the city's pre-eminent blank canvas venue — a place where the Victorian architecture sets the tone and everything else is up to you.

Three Spaces, One Building

The Grand Hall, the Vault, and the Gallery each bring a completely different atmosphere. The Grand Hall's triple-height skylit ceiling and original pillars deliver scale and grandeur at up to 2,500 standing. The Vault, beneath the building in what was once the ice store, trades height for atmosphere — vaulted brick ceilings and exposed Victorian architecture at 900 standing. The Gallery, light and airy on the second floor with river views, handles up to 500. Hire them individually or combine all three for events that move guests through contrasting environments over the course of an evening.

Thames-Side Setting at Old Billingsgate

The Terrace looks directly at Tower Bridge, with The Shard and HMS Belfast completing the panorama. It's one of the best arrival sequences on the river — guests step out to the view before entering the Grand Hall, which reframes the evening before it's begun. For summer drinks receptions and photo opportunities, there's nothing quite like it in the City.
