About M Threadneedle Street
M Threadneedle Street is a City restaurant that refuses to be one thing. A fusion steakhouse with A5 Kobe beef. A cocktail bar with a live music stage. A private members' lounge. A wedding venue. A collection of private dining rooms across multiple floors. At its best, it's all of these simultaneously — and the culinary pedigree to match, with an executive chef whose CV reads Ramsay and Roux Jr.
The Fusion Steakhouse Concept
Created by Martin Williams, former MD of Gaucho, M built its identity around sourcing the world's finest beef — from South African ribeye to Grade 10+/A5 Japanese pure Kobe fillet — and matching it with a menu and wine list drawn from the same six countries. Executive Chef Michael Reid brings the technique to match the ingredients. The result is a restaurant that competes on food quality with London's best steakhouses while offering event versatility that standalone dining rooms rarely attempt.
Spaces Across M Threadneedle Street
The venue layers private and social spaces across multiple levels. The Grill Mezzanine overlooking the main restaurant suits informal dinners for 22. The Underground Station seats 40 boardroom-style in a soundproofed basement that splits into two workspaces. The Hudson Room offers secluded dining for 16. The Wagyu Room on the top floor hosts Japanese-inspired masterclasses and pop-ups. The M Den provides private members' lounge exclusivity for around 100. And the M Bar — with its live music stage and mezzanine position — accommodates 150 for cocktail events with energy and atmosphere.
Weddings in the City
M holds a licence for ceremonies and civil partnerships — one of the few City restaurants where a couple can marry, dine, and celebrate in the same building. The format removes the transport logistics of split-venue weddings and gives the day genuine variety: ceremony in one space, drinks in the M Bar, dinner in the Grill, dancing until 1am. Complimentary menu tastings help couples plan with confidence.
At the Heart of EC2
Three minutes from Bank station, M Threadneedle Street sits where the City's financial institutions cluster. The address carries weight for corporate entertaining — client dinners, award ceremonies, board meetings — and the 1am licence gives events room to breathe beyond the typical City restaurant close. Tinie Tempah opened the venue with a 600-cover concert; the scale of ambition hasn't diminished since.
