About Kings Place
A purpose-built arts and events venue on the banks of Regent's Canal, Kings Place occupies a distinctive position in the King's Cross landscape. It opened in 2008 as a partnership between the Kings Place music foundation — a registered charity — and Green & Fortune, the caterers whose Northumberland farm supplies the kitchen. The result is a venue where event hire directly funds a year-round programme of music, art, and theatre.
Kings Place Performance Spaces
Hall One is the centrepiece. Designed by Dixon Jones architects with Arup Acoustics, every surface was calibrated for performance: oak panelling from a single tree, spring-loaded flooring, tiered seating for 415. It was built for concerts, but the same acoustic precision that serves chamber music serves a keynote presentation — speakers are heard clearly from every seat without amplification fighting the room. Hall Two at 200 capacity offers the same technical standard in a more intimate setting.
Canal-Side Entertaining at Kings Place
The Battlebridge Room brings a completely different energy. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the canal, a covered terrace extends the space outdoors, and the built-in bar and dance floor make it a turnkey venue for celebrations, summer parties, and networking events. At 400 standing capacity, it's one of the larger dedicated function rooms in the King's Cross area — but the natural light and water views give it a warmth that belies its size.
Kings Place as a King's Cross Events Hub
With six tube lines, Eurostar, and national rail services within a two-minute walk, Kings Place is genuinely one of the best-connected event venues in London. The ten spaces — from 24-person boardrooms to 415-seat auditoriums — run simultaneously without overlap, making it a natural fit for multi-stream conferences with breakout sessions, exhibitions, and evening receptions all under one roof.
