Spaces at Grand Connaught Rooms
2 spaces availableAbout Grand Connaught Rooms
Thirty-seven event spaces inside a Grade II* listed building that started life as a Freemasons' Tavern in 1775, on Great Queen Street between Covent Garden and Holborn. The Grand Connaught Rooms combines Georgian architecture with art deco interiors — marble chequerboard floors, ornate columns, detailed wood panelling — all backed by a multi-million pound transformation and managed by De Vere with in-house AV professionals across every room.
Grand Connaught Rooms — From Boardroom to Ballroom
The range of spaces is the venue's defining strength. The Grand Hall delivers ballroom grandeur at a scale rarely found in central London — up to 1,500 for a standing reception, 750 theatre-style, or 540 for a seated banquet, with a purpose-built stage, dance floor, and in-house lighting system. The Balmoral Suite extends the Grand Hall for combined events exceeding 700 for dinner. The Crown Suite offers an ornate domed ceiling for up to 300 standing. The Penthouse and Roof Terrace provide an intimate 80-guest space with views toward the BT Tower. Between these headline rooms sit purpose-built conference suites, boardroom spaces for 12, training rooms, and the Derby Suite — a modern conference facility that contrasts sharply with the heritage spaces elsewhere in the building.
Event Infrastructure at Grand Connaught Rooms
In-house AV technicians service all 37 rooms. Complimentary superfast Wi-Fi runs at 1Gb bandwidth across the building. Air conditioning covers every space. Sound and vision systems can link multiple rooms for events that span several floors. De Vere's in-house catering handles everything from day delegate packages to formal banquets, with external catering available through a buyout arrangement. The 1775 Restaurant & Bar and The Pantry coffee shop sit on site.
