About Flipper's at Exhibition
There is no other venue in London quite like Flipper's. The collision of 1970s Hollywood roller disco glamour with a Grade II listed Victorian power station creates a space that operates on a scale and with a personality that purpose-built event venues simply cannot replicate. At 34,000 square feet with capacity for up to 1,750, this is where brands, agencies, and event planners go when the brief says unforgettable.
From West Hollywood to White City
Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace was the party of late-70s LA — Diana Ross, Cher, Prince, and the intersection of skate culture, disco, and Hollywood glamour. Founded by Ian 'Flipper' Ross in 1979, the original venue lasted just three glittering years but defined a generation. Revived by Ross's daughter Liberty alongside Usher and Broadwick Live, it returned via a sold-out Rockefeller Centre residency before landing permanently in Exhibition London's 1899 engine house. The building itself — soaring ceilings, industrial steel, Victorian grandeur — provides the architectural drama that the roller rink fills with movement and music.
Flipper's as an Event Venue
The versatility is genuine. A full-size roller rink doubles as a conference floor for 1,165 or a seated dinner space for 780. The ground floor transforms for brand activations with all venue branding switchable and video screens available for corporate messaging. The Lizard Lounge mezzanine offers VIP separation for 100 with views over the main floor. A fixed stage handles live music, DJ sets, and presentations with professional-grade infrastructure. Dinners built over the rink floor, award ceremonies on the stage, product launches across the ground floor — previous clients include Burberry, Adidas Originals, and Pernod Ricard.
The Experience on Wheels
For social events — Christmas parties, team-building, milestone celebrations — the rink itself is the headline. Skating is the kind of activity that gets people laughing, moving, and creating stories together. Professional instructors handle the nervous, the music keeps everyone moving, and the atmosphere builds naturally without structured programming. The Hot Dogs & Caviar diner (named after the original Flipper's restaurant in LA) provides elevated American diner classics.
