About Empire Empire
Empire Empire arrived on All Saints Road in 2023 and collected a Michelin Bib Gourmand before most Notting Hill openings have finished their soft launch. Harneet Baweja — the name behind the Gunpowder group — built a restaurant around two ideas that shouldn't work together but absolutely do: serious Punjabi cooking and the golden age of Indian disco.
The Space
The room is compact and deliberate. Coloured tiled flooring, dark wood furnishings, white tablecloths, and oval-shaped lighting set a tone that's retro-glamorous without tipping into pastiche. The custom-made vinyl-only jukebox at the entrance isn't decoration — it sets the soundtrack from a curated collection of 1970s Indian disco records. Vintage album covers and commissioned artwork fill the whitewashed walls. It's a postmodern take on the curry house aesthetic, and it works because it's done with conviction rather than irony.
Private Dining and Exclusive Hire
The private dining room takes up to 25 guests in an enclosed space with the same design identity as the main restaurant. For larger events, the full venue seats around 40 across two dining areas. Both formats are rooted in in-house catering — the kitchen's open fire grill produces charcoal-grilled kebabs, biryanis, and the signature dishes that earned the Bib Gourmand. The wine programme favours biodynamic and natural producers alongside champagne, assembled to complement rather than compete with the food.
Notting Hill, Off the Main Drag
All Saints Road gives Empire Empire a neighbourhood feel that Portobello Road can't offer — quieter, more local, but still unmistakably Notting Hill. Westbourne Park station is five minutes on foot. The restaurant's character makes it a strong fit for milestone celebrations, team dinners, and private gatherings where food quality and atmosphere carry equal weight.
