Dixie Queen – Thames Luxury Charters

A replica paddle steamer large enough to require Tower Bridge to lift — the Dixie Queen is the Thames Luxury Charters flagship and the largest luxury entertainment vessel on the river. Two full decks, capacity for up to 620 guests, and a backdrop that changes minute by minute as London's skyline slides past the windows.

The Dixie Queen on the Thames

What sets a Thames charter apart from any land-based venue is that the setting moves. Departure from Tower Pier opens with Tower Bridge raising overhead — a spectacle that gives every event an unforgettable first act. Cruise routes pass the Tower of London, Canary Wharf, Greenwich, the O2, and through the Thames Barrier. The constantly evolving backdrop keeps energy in the room without any programming effort, and provides a natural talking point that helps guests who don't know each other find common ground.

Event Formats on the Dixie Queen

Standing receptions accommodate up to 452 across both decks, with guests circulating between levels and gathering at windows as landmarks approach. Seated dinners handle formal corporate entertaining and weddings — the vessel is licensed for ceremonies. Cabaret layout seats 236 for awards, entertainment, and performances. The format flexibility suits corporate hospitality, Christmas parties, milestone birthdays, and summer celebrations where the experience itself is the main attraction.

Dixie Queen — Operations and Booking

Thames Luxury Charters has run corporate events on the Thames for over 15 years, with a dedicated events management team handling every booking from planning to delivery. In-house catering by FoodbyDish is standard; own catering is available Monday to Wednesday. The vessel is centrally heated and air-cooled for year-round operation.
