Congress Centre was designed from the ground up for conferences and large-scale events, and the difference shows in everything from the sightlines to the sound system.

Congress Hall is the centrepiece: 850 standing, 500 theatre, 320 seated dinner, or 256 cabaret beneath a geometric space-frame ceiling that floods the hall with natural daylight. It's a genuinely distinctive architectural feature — delegates spend the day in natural light rather than fluorescent-lit windowless rooms. The adjacent Congress Suite holds 200 standing and works as breakout, exhibition, or catering space for combined events. Across six floors, 16 rooms with capacities from 10 upwards handle everything from board meetings to multi-day conferences with parallel sessions.

Technical Infrastructure at Congress Centre

The AV specification in Congress Hall is comprehensive enough that most events need no additional equipment hire: 48-channel Yamaha digital mixing desk, 20,000-lumen Panasonic projection, 85-inch plasma screens in both wings, full LED stage lighting, blackout capability, and in-house technicians to run it all. For conference organisers accustomed to negotiating separate AV contracts and hoping the equipment integrates, the built-in infrastructure simplifies both budget and logistics significantly.

Location and Operations at Congress Centre

Three minutes from Tottenham Court Road, in the West End near the British Museum, and outside the congestion charge zone. The TUC's home since the 1950s, now operating seven days a week with in-house catering, a head chef on site, and an events team with over a decade of tenure.
