About Caia
Caia occupies a two-storey corner of Golborne Road where Notting Hill starts to feel like Ladbroke Grove — an area with its own food and music culture that predates the gentrification narrative. Founded by Rishabh Vir (The Fat Duck, Kiln) and Tim Lang (Streetfeast), it's a venue built around two obsessions: serious wine and serious vinyl.
Upstairs: Wine and Fire
The ground floor operates as an open-fire restaurant and wine bar. The grill is custom-built and central to the menu — seasonal sharing plates designed to complement the wine list rather than the other way around. Executive chef John Javier brings Filipino and Australian influences to a European framework. The curated wine selection draws from old world and natural producers, with an aperitivo-focused cocktail programme alongside. Floor-to-ceiling wine bottle displays and chic bar seating set the tone: elegant but unstarched.
Downstairs: The Green Room
The basement flips the mood entirely. Velvet seating, chandeliers, a disco ball, and a wall of vintage vinyl with three turntables create a space that feels like a 1970s house party thrown by someone with exceptional taste in music. The custom hi-fi sound system is the centrepiece — DJs curate sets of rare jazz, funk, tropical, and disco on weekends, all spun from vinyl. The Green Room seats 30 or holds 40 standing, and operates as its own distinct hire space.
Golborne Road Character
The two-floor layout gives Caia a natural event arc that most single-room venues can't replicate — dinner and wine upstairs, music and cocktails in the basement. The full venue accommodates up to 85 standing or 60 seated, licensed until 1am with extensions available. Westbourne Park is the nearest station. Golborne Road itself adds character that a Mayfair address can't buy — independent shops, the Portuguese café scene, and a community atmosphere that filters into the venue.
