All Star Lanes Holborn

The original boutique bowling venue, All Star Lanes Holborn occupies a basement space in Victoria House that feels like stepping into a mid-century American entertainment hall. Four retro lanes sit at the centre of a venue that wraps cocktail culture, diner dining, and competitive socialising into a single Bloomsbury address — and does it with enough style that the aesthetic carries the event without a decorator in sight.

A Bloomsbury Bowling Institution

This is where All Star Lanes started, and it still feels like the most characterful of the group's venues. The low-lit speakeasy cocktail bar, the retro photo booth, and the 90-cover restaurant all sit alongside lanes that have hosted everything from team-building afternoons to late-night birthday parties. The 1950s Americana runs through every detail — it's not a theme applied over the top, it's the fabric of the space.

The Lodge — Private Hire Centrepiece

The standout hire option is The Lodge, a Canadian hunting cabin-themed private suite holding 80 guests with its own bar, two exclusive lanes, and a karaoke system. It's self-contained enough for privacy but still connected to the wider venue atmosphere. For events that want built-in entertainment without production planning, it's one of the more genuinely distinctive private hire formats in central London.

What Makes It Work for Events

Bowling solves the engagement problem that drinks-only receptions struggle with — guests are active from the moment they arrive, teams form around lanes, and the competitive element generates energy naturally. Full venue hire extends to 300 standing, and the events team handles everything from menu selection to timing and DJ coordination.

Holborn station sits five to six minutes' walk away on the Central and Piccadilly lines, placing the venue within comfortable reach of most central London offices.
