Spaces at Alexandra Palace
3 spaces availableAbout Alexandra Palace
Three event spaces, each operating at a scale that most London venues can't approach. Alexandra Palace — Ally Pally to anyone who grew up within sight of that North London hilltop — has been hosting gatherings since 1873, and the current spaces reflect a venue that has evolved through a century and a half of reinvention without losing the ambition that earned it the name The People's Palace.
The range is what sets Alexandra Palace apart as an events destination. From a Victorian theatre preserved in arrested decay to a blacked-out hall built to exclude every trace of daylight, and a Great Hall whose 10,250 standing capacity makes it one of London's largest single indoor event spaces — each room operates with a distinct character and a distinct purpose.
Three Spaces at Alexandra Palace
The Victorian Theatre reopened in 2018 after a multi-million-pound restoration that deliberately preserved eighty years of patina. Retractable seating, sixty-four rigging points, and multiple stage configurations deliver genuine production flexibility within a space whose arrested decay aesthetic photographs unlike anything else in the city. The West Hall offers 2,740 square metres of pillar-free, fully blacked-out space — a blank canvas at industrial scale with standing capacity for 2,500 and full drive-in access. The Great Hall adds the sheer scale, with 6,426 square metres under twenty-five-metre ceilings and a rose window that defines the building's silhouette.
Production and Catering at Ally Pally
All three main halls are pillar-free, which simplifies production builds at every scale. Extensive rigging throughout, blackout capability in the West Hall, and retractable seating in the Theatre give event producers the kind of flexibility that purpose-built modern venues often promise but struggle to deliver within Grade II listed architecture. In-house catering operates alongside four approved external caterers, and DDR packages are available. The Panorama Room, Palace Suite, Londesborough Room, and six breakout rooms support conferences and multi-format events.
The Ally Pally Location
The hilltop setting delivers panoramic London views from the South Terrace, with 196 acres of parkland extending the event footprint for outdoor elements, summer festivals, and photography. Alexandra Palace rail station is a ten-minute walk, with frequent services from Moorgate and King's Cross. Free parking for 1,500 cars handles large-scale production logistics. The venue is run as a charity, with event hire income supporting the palace's creative learning programme and ongoing conservation — a detail that matters increasingly to organisations building social value into procurement decisions. The alcohol licence runs until 01:00, with extensions available.
