About The Little Orange Door

The Little Orange Door is the Clapham outpost of Little Door & Co’s flatshare-themed bar and restaurant group, with multiple hireable spaces across the venue and a full buyout capacity of 180 standing or 102 seated. The venue sits on Clapham Common South Side, close to Clapham Common tube, and holds a late licence until 2am. With its own Conservatory bar, a Games Room hidden behind a bookcase, and a Living Room anchored by a fireplace and weekend DJ, it offers several distinct event zones — each with its own character, capacity, and degree of privacy. The group operates sister venues including The Little Blue Door, The Little Yellow Door, The Little Scarlet Door, and The Little Violet Door, all sharing the flatshare concept but each with its own personality. The Little Orange Door has picked up awards including Evening Standard Best Bottomless Brunch.

The Conservatory

The strongest space for private hire. Botanically inspired with hanging pot plants, candlelit walls, and its own dedicated gin bar, the Conservatory seats 26 to 30 for dinner or holds up to 45 standing. Crucially, it has its own entrance leading directly to the terrace, which means genuine privacy — guests arrive, drink, and dine in a self-contained space without crossing through the main venue. For intimate corporate dinners, birthday celebrations, or small evening receptions, the Conservatory delivers atmosphere without needing additional styling. Sharing platter menus run from two to four courses, keeping the dining format sociable and suited to groups. The private terrace access is a significant advantage in warmer months, extending the usable space outdoors without losing the sense of a contained, exclusive event.

The Games Room

Tucked behind a bookcase, the Games Room seats 14 to 18 or holds 25 to 30 standing. Inside you’ll find a Nintendo 64, fancy dress box, retro board games, and sofas — a space designed to feel like a friend’s living room rather than a function room. It is not fully enclosed, so it suits informal events, small team socials, and birthday drinks where the atmosphere matters more than acoustic separation. The hidden entrance behind the bookcase adds a reveal moment that guests tend to remember. The Games Room works particularly well for events where interaction is the priority — the games and dress-up props give guests something to do beyond standing with a drink, which makes smaller groups gel faster than they would in a conventional bar space.

The Living Room and Full Venue Hire

The Living Room is the venue’s main space — fireplace, long bar, SMEG fridge, and a DJ station that runs from 9:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It seats 60 or holds 120 standing, but it serves as the main thoroughfare for the venue, so it cannot be booked exclusively without a full buyout. For events that need the entire venue, a full hire delivers all three indoor spaces plus the 32-seat terrace, two bars, two projectors, and professional DJ equipment. The combination creates a multi-zone event where guests move between the botanical calm of the Conservatory, the playful energy of the Games Room, and the DJ-led atmosphere of the Living Room — essentially three parties under one roof, connected by a terrace.

Hiring The Little Orange Door

In-house catering is required for all bookings unless arranging a full venue dry hire. The sharing platter format runs across two, three, or four courses, with menus designed for the sociable dining style the venue is built around. The venue opens at 6pm daily, with DJ sets from 9:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Fancy dress, board games, and the Nintendo 64 are included in every hire — no extra charge. External DJs and BYO entertainment are only permitted with full venue bookings. Cancellation terms require 30 or more days’ notice for a full refund. The terrace adds outdoor capacity for warmer months. Clapham Common tube station is a short walk, and the venue’s position on the south side of the Common makes it accessible from both Clapham and Balham directions.
