Full Venue Hire at The Fountain Room

The Fountain Room is a seasonal marquee venue within Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury, purpose-built for events and open during November and December each year. It’s operated by the Awesome Group — a full-service event production company — which means lighting, sound, entertainment, theming, and catering all come from a single in-house team rather than requiring separate suppliers. The venue holds up to 500 standing or 350 seated in a single open-plan space covering approximately 5,400 square feet. A festoon-lit fountain marks the entrance, and the interior features a starlit ceiling throughout, thermostatic heating, full carpeting, luxury attended toilets, and a dedicated catering marquee attached to the main structure. Despite being a temporary build, the production spec matches permanent venues.

Annual Theming at The Fountain Room

Each year The Fountain Room reinvents itself with a new immersive theme. Previous installations have included a 1920s Speakeasy, a Venetian Masquerade Ball, and an Enchanted Woodland. The 2024 season ran with a Speakeasy concept complete with themed entertainment, atmospheric lighting, and period-appropriate décor throughout. This means events arrive to a venue already fully dressed and production-ready — removing the cost and logistics of building atmosphere from scratch. The theming extends beyond decoration. Themed entertainment — from magicians and dancers to live musicians — is built into the packages, and the state-of-the-art lighting rig and sound system adapt to match each year’s concept. For Christmas parties in particular, this removes a significant production burden.

Event Formats at The Fountain Room

The space handles seated dinners, standing receptions, awards ceremonies, conferences, fashion shows, and live performances. The open-plan layout offers flexibility — you’re working with a blank canvas that happens to come pre-dressed. Both exclusive private hire and shared Christmas party packages are available, meaning smaller teams can access the venue without committing to full hire. Catering is handled in-house by Fusion, working from the attached catering marquee. Menus cover three-course seated dinners, bowl food, and reception formats. A complimentary cloakroom, full staffing, security, and DJ are typically included in packages.

Location and Access

Russell Square station on the Piccadilly line is a three-minute walk. King’s Cross and Euston mainline stations are seven minutes on foot, making the venue accessible from across London and nationally. The Coram’s Fields setting — a park in the middle of Bloomsbury — means guests arrive somewhere genuinely unexpected, which adds to the event’s impact.
