Full Venue Hire at Shuffleboard Bar

Shuffleboard Bar sits inside Generator London hostel on Tavistock Place in Bloomsbury, combining champion-sized shuffleboard tables with a full private bar, DJ deck, projector, and an industrial-chic interior that features exposed brickwork, graffiti art from London artists, and — unexpectedly — an original red London Routemaster bus repurposed as a DJ booth. The private bar and shuffleboards space takes up to 80 guests for exclusive hire, with the main bar extending to 200 for larger events. The shuffleboard itself is the draw. The tables are championship-sized — longer and more serious than the pub versions most people have encountered — and the game requires no prior skill, making it immediately accessible while remaining genuinely competitive. Groups play within minutes of arriving, which solves the engagement problem that plagues many corporate socials and birthday parties.

Spaces and Setup at Shuffleboard Bar

The private bar and shuffleboards area operates as a self-contained hire at up to 80 guests, with its own bar, four shuffleboard tables, and dedicated space away from the main venue. For larger events, the main bar accommodates up to 200 with a spacious dance floor, projector screen, AV hookup, party lighting, and flexible layout options from theatre-style seating to an open floor. A private shuffleboard room with four tables takes up to 45–50 guests for more intimate groups. The venue can configure different spaces to suit the format — competitive tournament, casual play alongside a party, or a corporate presentation followed by drinks and games.

Food, Drinks, and Practicalities

The bar runs a full selection of spirits, craft beers, and cocktails, with a food menu of pub classics — burgers, pizza, bar snacks — that suits the casual, activity-led format. External catering is permitted for events requiring something different. Beyond shuffleboard, the venue offers pool, classic arcade machines, foosball, and a boxing machine, with live sports shown daily across screens. The alcohol licence runs until 11pm with extensions available.

On-Site Accommodation at Shuffleboard Bar

The connection to Generator London hostel is a genuine differentiator for certain events. Residential team-building events, out-of-town groups visiting London, and late-night celebrations where guests want to avoid the journey home all benefit from on-site accommodation — the rooms are minutes from the venue rather than a taxi ride away.

Getting to Shuffleboard Bar

At 37 Tavistock Place, the venue is roughly ten minutes’ walk from both Euston and King’s Cross St Pancras stations, with Russell Square Tube the closest stop. The King’s Cross location is particularly well-connected for guests arriving from outside London by rail, while the Bloomsbury setting appeals to the creative, academic, and professional audiences concentrated in the area.
