About Gallery 10 at Saatchi Gallery

A 7.2-metre ceiling in a central London gallery. Gallery 10 at Saatchi is the space in the building where scale stops being a number on a spec sheet and becomes something you physically feel when you walk in. The double height transforms what is otherwise a first-floor gallery with the familiar Saatchi DNA — white walls, Douglas wooden floors, dimmable barrisol lighting — into something with real vertical drama. Bicep chose this gallery for a global livestream. That gives you a sense of the production capability the room supports.

Gallery 10’s Double-Height Space at Saatchi Gallery

Most of Saatchi’s galleries sit between 3.2 and 4.4 metres in ceiling height. Gallery 10 nearly doubles the tallest of those, and the effect on the room’s atmosphere is significant. Immersive installations can build upward in ways that would be physically impossible in any of the other 12 galleries. Brand activations gain a theatrical dimension — large-scale reveals, suspended elements, projection mapping across that vertical expanse. The proportions read as genuinely monumental without the cavernous feel of a warehouse, because the gallery’s clean lines and controlled lighting keep the space feeling designed rather than industrial. The room takes 220 standing or 180 seated at long tables. At rounds the number drops to 150, and theatre seats 150. Those are the same numbers as the standard rectangular galleries — the difference isn’t capacity, it’s atmosphere. A dinner for 150 under a 7.2-metre ceiling feels fundamentally different from the same dinner under 4 metres.

Production Capability in Saatchi Gallery’s Tallest Space

Three-phase power, high-speed wifi, and fully dimmable barrisol lighting provide the baseline infrastructure. But it’s the ceiling height that unlocks production possibilities unavailable elsewhere in the building. Rigging points for lighting, sound, and scenic elements have the vertical clearance for ambitious builds. Large-format projection benefits from the height-to-throw ratio. Live performance — music, spoken word, theatrical — gains genuine stage presence from the vertical volume. AV and production come through Saatchi’s accredited supplier list, which includes specialists experienced in working within the gallery’s constraints and opportunities. There is no in-built AV system, so production starts from scratch each time — a blank slate that experienced suppliers welcome rather than work around.

Events That Suit Gallery 10

This is where Saatchi’s event programme reaches its most ambitious. Immersive brand experiences that need height for their creative vision. Product launches designed around a dramatic reveal moment. Large-format exhibitions and art fairs where the ceiling allows work to be displayed at gallery-institution scale. Live performance and filming — the Bicep livestream demonstrated that the room’s acoustics and infrastructure can support broadcast-quality production. Fashion shows work here too, though the space’s proportions are less conventionally runway-shaped than Galleries 7 and 8. The double height suits presentations that build upward — set designs, suspended installations, projection-based experiences — rather than events that rely on length for their drama.

Connecting Gallery 10 Across Saatchi’s First Floor

Gallery 10 sits at the end of the first-floor sequence alongside Galleries 6, 7, 8, and 9. Floor-to-ceiling openings between galleries allow the first floor to function as a connected suite, and the full floor accommodates up to 800 standing guests. The contrast between Gallery 10’s height and the standard proportions of its neighbours creates a natural progression for events that span multiple rooms — arriving in standard galleries before opening into the double-height space works as a built-in moment of reveal. Whole-venue hire across all 13 galleries and three floors takes total capacity to 1,500. The goods lift connects all floors for production logistics, and the building is fully accessible throughout.
