Sir Terence Conran’s 1990s redesign and Russell Sage Studio’s 2014 refresh have kept the space contemporary while preserving the drama, and the result is a St James’s restaurant that accommodates 280 seated or 500 standing for exclusive hire with nightly live entertainment, no hire fees, and in-house catering across the full spectrum of event formats. The venue sits on Bury Street, between Green Park and Piccadilly Circus, with the West End on the doorstep.

The Main Restaurant and Stage

The main dining room is the centrepiece — a sweeping space with an island cocktail bar, the signature staircase, and a curtained stage that hosts live music seven nights a week. For events, the stage provides built-in entertainment infrastructure: live bands, DJs, or your own programming. The room seats 250–280 for dinner (220 for dinner-dance configurations where the floor space accommodates dancing), and the late licence means celebrations can run well into the evening. Awards ceremonies, gala dinners, product launches, and milestone celebrations all benefit from a room where the architecture creates occasion without additional set dressing.

Private Dining at Quaglino’s

Two private dining rooms sit on the mezzanine level, overlooking the theatre of the main restaurant below. The Prince of Wales Room — named for its original royal patron — takes 28 guests on a single table or up to 40 on separate tables, with a projector and screen for presentations. Blinds offer total privacy or can be raised to let guests enjoy the atmosphere from above. The Giovanni Room is more intimate, seating up to 14–16 around a mahogany table. Both are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and suit corporate presentations, client entertainment, birthday dinners, and private celebrations where the setting needs to match the occasion.

Mezzanine Bar

The mezzanine also houses a cocktail bar area — an Art Deco-inspired retreat with leather and velvet furnishings, dim lighting, and elevated views of the live entertainment below. It works well for champagne receptions before dinner, or as a standalone space for more intimate drinks events.
