About Orrery

A Conran-designed fine dining restaurant in a converted nineteenth-century stable building on Marylebone High Street, Orrery offers three distinct event spaces — main dining room, private dining room, and rooftop terrace — that combine for exclusive hire at 100 seated or 150 standing. Currently undergoing a relaunch under two-Michelin-star chef Pierre Minotti, the restaurant’s culinary proposition is set to elevate significantly in 2026.

Orrery’s Dining Room and Private Events

The main dining room seats 44, its arched windows looking over St Marylebone Church Gardens. By day, natural light fills the room through those windows; by evening, atmospheric lighting creates a more intimate register. The 2018 refurbishment by David D’Almada of Sagrada brought lavender panelling, handmade terracotta, and a south-of-France sensibility to the interiors. For group dining — whether a corporate lunch, celebration dinner, or semi-private gathering — it’s a restaurant that feels considered rather than corporate, with the buzzing atmosphere of a working dining room rather than the formality of a private function space.

Private Dining at Orrery

The Private Dining Room seats 16 for dinner or takes 30 standing, with its own bar. It’s a self-contained space that suits intimate celebrations, client dinners, and working lunches where the conversation matters. The room has direct access to the wider restaurant for pre-dinner drinks or for events that want to combine the intimacy of private dining with the sociability of the bar and terrace.

Orrery’s Rooftop Terrace

The rooftop terrace is the hidden element. Above Marylebone High Street, lined with lavender and olive trees, it overlooks the church gardens and offers a setting that feels Mediterranean rather than metropolitan. A retractable awning makes it genuinely year-round — as comfortable in winter with heaters as it is in summer sunshine. At 36 seated or 70 standing, it works for evening drinks receptions, alfresco dining, and wedding celebrations. For exclusive hire, the terrace combines with the dining room and bar to give events three distinct zones across indoor and outdoor spaces.

Orrery Wine Room

The Wine Room seats up to eight, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass panels and the restaurant’s collection of fine Italian wines. It’s a niche offering — ultra-intimate wine dinners, private tastings, or a breakout space during a larger event — but it adds a dimension that few restaurants of this size can offer.

Culinary Direction and Practical Details

All catering is in-house. The kitchen is transitioning to Pierre Minotti’s direction — two Michelin stars at his previous post — with a focus on classical French technique using the finest British seasonal produce. Orrery is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, and its proximity to Westminster Registry Office and St Marylebone Church makes it a natural reception venue. Baker Street and Bond Street are the nearest tubes, with Oxford Circus also within walking distance.
