About Magazine London at Magazine London

Purpose-built in 2019, Magazine London was designed from the ground up as an event venue — not converted, not adapted, not a heritage building with limitations dressed up as character. The result is 3,205 square metres of interior space across two main halls, two mezzanines, a 600-square-metre waterfront terrace, and a 7,000-capacity riverside showground, all sitting on Greenwich Peninsula with unbroken Thames and Canary Wharf views. Full site capacity reaches 10,000. Three minutes from North Greenwich tube on the Jubilee line. The scale is significant. Space 2 alone seats 1,920 theatre-style or 1,360 for dinner — numbers that put it among London’s largest configurable event halls. But scale without infrastructure is just a big empty room, and Magazine London was built with the production backbone to match: roof-mounted sound and lighting rigs, modular staging, three-phase power, direct vehicle access for automotive launches, and an in-house production team that understands how events at this level actually work.

Space 1 at Magazine London — Thames Views and Seven-Metre Ceilings

Space 1 is the glass-fronted hall: floor-to-ceiling windows delivering panoramic Thames and Canary Wharf skyline views, seven-metre ceilings giving monumental vertical scale. Standing capacity reaches 1,750, with 900 theatre, 560 dining, and 392 cabaret. The industrial-contemporary design — patinated steel, polished concrete floors, black OSB walls — pays homage to Greenwich’s maritime heritage without feeling nostalgic about it. The aesthetic is modern, urban, and deliberately bold. Industrial steel staircases connect to Mezzanine 1 (300 standing) and Mezzanine 2 (560 standing), both of which work as breakout spaces, seminar areas, exhibition zones, or VIP levels for larger events. Space 1 opens directly onto the terrace, The Yard (3,000 capacity), and the Riverside Showground — seamless indoor-outdoor flow for events that want to use the waterfront setting properly.

Space 2 — Magazine London’s Black Box

Where Space 1 is about views and light, Space 2 is about control. A fully configurable black box — black walls, polished concrete, clear sightlines — with state-of-the-art roof-mounted sound and lighting designed for immersive experiences, brand activations, and large-scale production. Standing capacity is 3,000, theatre 1,920, dining 1,360, cabaret 952. The space divides into smaller configurations or runs as one continuous hall. Direct vehicle access means automotive launches can drive product straight onto the floor. Removable staging, two dressing rooms with full facilities, and cutting-edge AV technology give production teams the kind of infrastructure they’d expect from a dedicated exhibition centre, wrapped in a venue with considerably more character.

Outdoor Spaces and the Riverside at Magazine London

The 600-square-metre waterfront terrace handles 400 guests with views back across the Thames. The Yard takes 3,000. The Riverside Showground pushes outdoor capacity to 7,000 — festival-scale gatherings with proper waterfront setting. The showground is only available alongside hire of internal spaces, keeping the indoor-outdoor relationship integrated rather than fragmented. Summer parties, brand festivals, and large-scale activations use the outdoor areas as extensions of the main event rather than afterthoughts. The terrace works for drinks receptions alongside conferences or dinners held in Space 1, while the showground transforms for events where the outdoor footprint is the main attraction.

Production and Catering at Magazine London

Award-winning catering partners Moving Venue handle food and beverage, with the range to cover everything from 560-person seated dinners to street food installations across outdoor events. The in-house production team and dedicated events team mean you’re working with people who know the building’s capabilities — lighting angles, load-in routes, power distribution, staging configurations — rather than figuring it out from a floor plan. Superspeed Wi-Fi throughout, a people’s lift for full accessibility, and modular infrastructure across every space. North Greenwich station is three minutes on foot, putting central London within 15 minutes via Jubilee line. The A102 provides road access for production vehicles and guest arrivals from south and east London.
