Summer Event Space at Evolution London

Three thousand and fifty-six square metres of outdoor event space within Battersea Park, transformed each summer with a festoon-lit stretch tent, a central bar installation, and lounge furniture across both the covered Deck and the main Courtyard. Evolution London’s Summer Event Space operates from late May through September, offering festival-scale outdoor capacity with direct access to 5,500 square metres of indoor space alongside — the combination that separates this from every purely outdoor venue in London.

Evolution London’s Summer Setup — Deck and Courtyard

The outdoor configuration comprises two distinct areas. The Deck is a raised covered platform with lounge furniture and bar access, holding around 200 standing — a natural VIP zone or pre-dinner drinks area with views across the wider site. The Courtyard is the main forecourt: an open expanse accommodating up to 2,800 standing under and around the stretch tent, with space for BBQ stations, fire pits, food trucks, outdoor bars, and entertainment installations. The summer package includes the stretch tent with festoon lighting, central bar, lounge furniture across both areas, production and AV installation, and exclusive site access. The overall effect is polished outdoor event production — designed environment, not raw open space — with the parkland setting of mature trees and Battersea Park greenery providing atmosphere that no amount of production design can manufacture indoors.

Indoor-Outdoor Flow at Evolution London

What makes this genuinely different is the direct connection to the main indoor venue. The 5,500 square metre interior — pillar-free main hall, Mezzanine with park views, Atrium, and full kitchen — sits immediately adjacent. Events flow between indoor and outdoor spaces without transition zones, dead corridors, or the sense of leaving one venue and arriving at another. For summer events, this means weather contingency is built into the architecture rather than bolted on as an afterthought. British weather arrives mid-event — guests move inside. The sun returns — they drift back out. Production spans both environments, creating different zones and atmospheres within a single gathering. The indoor space offers 2,000 seated dinner, 3,500 theatre, and 4,000 reception capacity, so the scale of the backup matches the ambition of the outdoor programme.

Summer Events at Evolution — What Works

Corporate summer parties and fun days use the outdoor space for activities — giant games, inflatables, live music, archery — with indoor areas handling catering, presentations, or awards. Festival-style brand activations find ready-made infrastructure at scale: the stretch tent, courtyard, and park setting create festival architecture without the greenfield logistics. AGMs and town halls with summer breakouts run formal programming inside with networking and refreshments flowing outdoors. Team building events spread across the 3,056 square metres of outdoor space, BBQ receptions and al fresco dining utilise food stations and trucks in the Courtyard, and awards ceremonies run indoor gala formats with outdoor pre-drinks on the Deck. Moving Venue handles all catering as exclusive in-house partner, and technical partner Encore provides pre-installed production support. The venue offers 24-hour access during hire with no load-in restrictions, free car parking, and a dedicated taxi rank. Battersea Park and Queenstown Road stations are nearby, with Victoria and Sloane Square serving the wider area. For event planners trying to deliver outdoor ambition at genuine scale without gambling entirely on British sunshine, the combination of 3,000 outdoor standing capacity with 5,500 square metres of indoor backup is unique in London.
