Full Venue Hire at Eastcheap Records

Live music six nights a week, a 2am licence, no hire fee, and 450 capacity across three spaces with two bars and two stages — Eastcheap Records brings genuine music-venue energy to City event hire. The 1883 building on the corner of Eastcheap and Lovat Lane, a short walk from Monument station, houses the largest venue in the Records group (sister sites in Clapham Common, Battersea, and Shoreditch), and the one best equipped for private hire at scale. The no-hire-fee model is worth highlighting upfront: the venue charges a minimum spend only, which varies by date. For budget-conscious planners, this removes a fixed cost from the equation and means the entire spend goes toward food, drinks, and entertainment that guests actually experience.

Backstage at Eastcheap Records

The dedicated private hire space. Backstage takes 150 standing or 75 seated with its own independent bar, full PA system, projector with screen, and a second stage. This is genuine privacy rather than a roped-off section — a self-contained room with its own infrastructure, suited to Christmas parties, corporate events, panel discussions, and private entertainment evenings. The dedicated events team helps build bespoke cocktail menus, food packages (pizzas, canapés, sharing plates from the in-house kitchen), and can arrange live musicians or a DJ from the venue’s extensive roster.

The Green Room

An intimate space adjacent to the main bar area for 50 standing or 25 seated. The Green Room shares the main bar’s live music atmosphere — a semi-private option for smaller groups who want their own tables and dedicated service without being completely separated from the venue’s energy. Table service covers food and drinks, with bespoke menus available.

Full Venue Hire at Eastcheap Records

The complete 450-capacity hire gives you all three spaces, both bars, and both stages. The vinyl-adorned decor, rock ‘n’ roll artwork, and trademark red neon create instant atmosphere — the kind of venue where the theming does the decoration work and you don’t need to spend on styling. The main room features high tables, booth spaces, and a raised seating area around the primary stage.

Live Music and Entertainment

Eastcheap Records runs regular live music programming — funk and soul nights, jazz sessions, and DJs — which means the venue maintains a deep roster of professional musicians available for private events. This is a genuine differentiator: rather than sourcing entertainment externally, you can book from a proven lineup that already knows the space, the sound system, and the audience. The 2am licence gives evening events room to develop properly, running well past the midnight cut-off that limits most City venues. Daytime hire is also available for film and photography shoots, corporate meetings, and training days — the venue’s character works as backdrop for visual content as effectively as it does for evening events.
