ESCape at CodeNode

ESCape is the social engine of CodeNode — a 5,000 square foot open-plan zone at the heart of London’s largest dedicated tech events venue, designed for the parts of conferences and corporate gatherings that happen between sessions. Exhibition stands, networking drinks, registration, catering, and the post-event debrief all land here, supported by the kind of infrastructure that tech audiences expect and most venues improvise.

CodeNode’s ESCape — Layout and Capacity

The space accommodates up to 400 standing as part of a full venue hire, with room for 16 to 30 exhibitor booths across the open floor. It’s not primarily a standalone event space — ESCape functions as the connective hub between CodeNode’s six named event rooms, sitting at the venue’s centre with direct access to Ctrl (the 330-seat main auditorium), CMD (88–120 capacity), and sightlines into Alt/Tab through internal windows. That positioning makes it the natural breakout zone for any event using the wider venue. The fully licensed SpaceBar anchors one end of the space, serving drinks throughout the day and into the evening. Two ping pong tables and a foosball table add casual social infrastructure — the kind of touches that tech meetups and hackathons expect and corporate events quietly appreciate. A karaoke room tucked within ESCape holds up to 15 guests for something more contained.

Events and Exhibition Use at CodeNode ESCape

Exhibition and sponsor showcases are the primary use case. Each booth position gets basic power, and the open-plan layout allows flexible stand configurations — from a compact row of sponsor tables to a full exhibition floor filling the 450 square metres. Fast, reliable Wi-Fi runs throughout the venue, and CodeNode’s in-house technical team handles connectivity requirements that would overwhelm a generalist operation. Post-conference networking is where ESCape earns its keep. Sessions end in Ctrl or CMD, and delegates flow naturally into the breakout zone — drinks at the SpaceBar, a round of ping pong, exhibitor conversations, or just the kind of loose networking that happens when a space is designed for people to linger rather than file out. Hackathon communal areas, tech meetup networking, e-sports tournament social zones, and registration/catering staging all work within the footprint.

ESCape at CodeNode — Production and Access

The venue’s large loading bay and goods lift make exhibitor setup straightforward — banner stands, booth installations, and heavy equipment arrive without the access headaches that plague venues retrofitted from office space. Digital gobo projection is available for branded lighting across the floor. Flipcharts and whiteboards are scattered throughout for the kind of spontaneous collaboration that tech events generate. CodeNode sits at 10 South Place — a two-minute walk from Moorgate station and within easy reach of Liverpool Street. The location puts it at the intersection of the City’s financial core and East London’s tech corridor, which is exactly where most of its audience already works.
