Full Venue Hire at Balls Brothers Austin Friars

Three floors of genuine character tucked away from the City’s main thoroughfares — Balls Brothers Austin Friars is a wine bar with heritage, recently renovated to bring exposed brick, high ceilings, and natural light together with a spirit kitchen, gin bar, and interactive darts experience. Full venue hire accommodates 350 standing or 175 seated, and the vertical layout creates natural zones that single-floor venues can’t replicate. The Balls Brothers name carries recognition in the City — it’s an established wine bar brand with a portfolio built over decades, and that familiarity provides reassurance for client entertaining and corporate events where the venue itself signals quality before guests have taken a sip. The Austin Friars location places it within walking distance of both Bank and Liverpool Street stations, accessible from anywhere in the financial district.

Ground Floor — The Main Bar at Balls Brothers Austin Friars

The main bar is an open-plan space with expansive windows that bring natural daylight into a room defined by exposed brick walls and industrial-character ventilation. The open-plan kitchen adds visual energy. This is where drinks receptions and larger events happen — the high ceilings create volume, and the contemporary renovation balances industrial charm with warmth. The Green Room, a semi-private space at the back of the ground floor, seats 22 or holds 30 standing with its own projector — suited for smaller meetings, intimate dinners, or breakout space during larger events.

The Mezzanine and Spirit Kitchen

The mezzanine level overlooks the main bar, creating an elevated vantage point that works naturally for speeches, toasts, and moments that benefit from a focal point above the crowd. The spirit kitchen up here — a dedicated preparation area for cocktails and spirits — doubles as both practical bar infrastructure and a talking point for events. The elevated position gives drinks receptions a different dynamic from ground-floor mingling, and the views down to the main bar maintain connection with the wider event.

The 180 Club — Gin Bar and Darts

The basement houses the 180 Club — an intimate private room with its own gin bar and two interactive darts oches. Capacity is around 30 guests, making it ideal for team events, smaller celebrations, and corporate entertainment where activity keeps conversation flowing. The multiplayer darts experience updates the traditional game with fast-paced scoring and group competition, adding genuine engagement beyond drinks and nibbles. The privacy of a self-contained basement space, combined with the gin bar and darts, creates an evening that has structure without feeling programmed.
