We understand how London’s events market moves. How demand shifts between midweek corporate bookings and weekend private hire. Which areas fill up three months out for Christmas and which have availability into December. Where the corporate clusters sit, which neighbourhoods are emerging for events, and what transport links matter when 300 guests are arriving at 6pm on a Thursday. That kind of knowledge doesn’t come from listing venues in every city — it comes from knowing one city properly.
Our story
Venues.London started life as a blog. Back in 2015, we began writing about London’s event spaces — reviewing venues, covering what worked for different types of events, and quietly building an audience of organisers who kept coming back. Before long, venues were reaching out to us, asking to be featured. No sales team, no outreach — just venues recognising that we understood their world and could connect them with the right people.
That was the foundation. We grew organically from there — adding more venues, launching dedicated Christmas and summer party sites, and gradually turning a content project into a genuine platform. Growth was steady rather than splashy, which suited us fine. We were building something specific, not trying to scale fast and figure it out later.
Then the events industry stopped. COVID changed everything — but it also gave us time to step back and look honestly at what we’d built, what the industry needed, and what event planners were still struggling with. The answer was clear enough: start again, and do it properly.
So we rebuilt Venues.London from the ground up. New platform, new technology, new standards for how venues are listed and how enquiries work — but the same philosophy we started with: know the venues, understand the events, and make the whole process easier for the people doing the planning.
Built from experience, not assumptions
Venues.London wasn’t built by a tech company trying to figure out how events work. It was built by events professionals who’ve spent over twenty years in London’s events industry — at historic Livery Halls with A-list clientele, at busy nightclub venues on tight turnarounds, at blank-canvas spaces forty floors up, and at independent venues where every event is different. We’ve been on the venue side of the enquiry form. We know what a useful booking request looks like, and we know what a waste of everyone’s time looks like.
That experience is the whole foundation. We didn’t assume what event planners and venues need from a platform — we already knew, because we’ve lived it from every angle. We built the technology around that knowledge, not the other way around.
We think the difference shows. In the venues we list, in the way search works, in the details on every listing, and in an enquiry process that gives venues what they actually need to come back with a proper response. The result is a platform that genuinely helps London event planners find better spaces — faster, easier, and with full transparency on what they’re booking and what it costs.
